I started designing website back in 1998, after teaching at Adult Ed...  showing people how to do it themselves.  Several students asked me to design their websites after the course was completed.
There are 5 stages to Designing a website;

1.  Getting to know each other stage

2.  Analysing your target market

3.  Creating an initial layout for approval

4.  Creating the web pages for approval

5.  Launch Website using my unique Launch system

See my launch system in action here, Just click the big red Launch Button;

Every kind of website you can think of, from simple static one page sites to multi-level database driven CMS and CMR systems.

Websites for Business, personal, pleasure, web apps to allow specific things to be done, bricks and mortar businesses that want to move online, people who want a side hustle to make money selling their own stuff, Photographers who want to show off their work, artist who want to sell their work, and everyone in between.

I will take on any challenge, but mostly I do Content Managed websites that my clients need updating anything from daily to once or twice a year.
Keeping up to date is what makes my job exciting and fresh.  Learning new techniques from surfing the web for new and innovative and exciting designs, and of course from other web designers.
I have gone from zero to launch in as little as 2 weeks, depending on content, photos and details.

I usually aim to finish and launch a website within 2 months.

It is so important to understand your customer and who you are targeting.  We will accept your guidance on this or we can create your target audience for you based on your niche, ask me about this.
Your branding is important, if not one of the most important aspects of the design process, the guidelines you set with your branding are followed closely to ensure your site is identifiable as your brand.

If you do not have any brand guidelines I can build guidelines for you as part of the project, please ask me about this.

All projects are started from your branding, if any, and your project specifications, then built up from there.  All sites are tested to ensure they are user friendly and work well on multiple devices.
All my websites work for all devices, from the outset, testing is done mainly on a desktop but once the site is completed and prior to launch a full test will be carried out on various devices, phones, tablets, laptops and desktops.  You will also have the chance to check the site prior to launch to ensure everything works as you expect.
At the start of a project and throughout I will email over a project list showing what has been completed, what is still to be done and, if anything, what is required from you such as content, photos etc.
I am updating my clients websites daily, and usually without any additional charges.

Any new content or changes to current content can be communicated to me in your preferred method, email, messenger, text, DM or other, and the update will usually be completed by the next day, sometimes within the hour.

I have spent the last 20+ years developing and enhancing my own in-house CMS ensuring that my clients needs are met with everything I create.

I adapt and update my CMS continuously to give my clients the best possible experience.

Yes you can login and update all content directly, create blogs, change content and add content to current pages as you require.  Any design work or additional or new pages are chargeable and are usually done same day ready for your new content to be added.  I am always here if something goes wrong or if you have a question about the CMS and something not looking or working as you would expect.

I adapt and update my CMS continuously to give my clients the bets possible experience.

I manage all my client websites so you do not have to worry about any aspect of the online life of your website.  We have shared hosting which, is usually enough for most websites, but if your site is likely to attract huge numbers of visitors or you want additional speed then VPS accounts are available, we can discuss this at any time, start on a shared and move over to VPS or go straight for VPS.
As I manage my clients hosting I can control the access to each account.

This ensures that my CMS is secure and not corrupted or manipulated by anyone.  Updates are carried out regularly to stop hackers and ensure your website remains running.

My CMS informs me of possible threats which I can then block specific visitors, specific url's and referrers and then roll those fixes out to all clients.

All designs are started as search engine friendly with all the expected features ready and in place.  Once the site is launched we undertake a simple SEO on your home page and all main pages, targeting your main description and keyword of your business.  Sitemap is enabled and available for the search engines to find and understand your main pages.

Additional SEO is recommended which we can quote for.  Ask us about this now.

Cost of a project depends on the size of the website, the more pages, functions, and features then the more it will cost.
New customers pay Hosting and 50% of design/development fees up front followed by the final 50% payment after 1 month or prior to launch, whichever is soonest.

If the project is urgent or for our emergency launch package then full payment is required before we undertake any work.

We are happy to discuss payments if this is an issue, as we can stagger the development/design work if necessary.

There are no hidden costs, and the price we quote is the price you pay.

Occasionally there is what is known as project creep, which means the project becomes bigger than the initial specification.  In this case we will charge for the additional work at the end of the project prior to launch.

If new details are added after the launch then some work may require additional charges which will be discussed at that time.

Depending on the complexity of the project I build a list during the working day and send communication either at the end of the day or at the beginning of the next day, but if you prefer I can send over notifications as things are completed or when things are required.
I am happy with any form of communication that suits you, email, messenger, DM, text, phone calls, or FaceTime.  You choose.
Once the initial specifications have been set and the design starts to come together, a pre-launch version of your website will be available for you to trial and see how it is working.  You can feedback any ideas or changes you would like and the site is adjusted until you sign off the design.  You can also launch the website with a big red button if you would like.
Your feedback is important, I take feedback and adjust the design to your requirements and your website will not go live until you have signed off and are happy.
